Building Your Wedding Party

You probably already have some idea who you’re going to ask to be your bridesmaids, groomsmen, maid of honor, and best man. You might be trying to narrow down your long list of candidates. Here, I’m going to share some of the newest trends that today’s wedding couples are using to make their weddings more special to them.

* Have two best men and maid of honor, if the groom and bride can’t select between say a brother/sister and best friend.

* The groom and bride can ask mother/father to be maid of honor or best man.

* Skip the lineup of bridesmaids and groomsmen in favor of just a maid of honor and a best man for simpler, smaller weddings. You can also do this with a bigger wedding on a budget.

* Have just the best man and maid of honor, and then a collection of adorable, much loved children in matching flower girl dresses for the girls and matching tuxes for the boys. This is a way to include all of your nieces, nephews, godchildren, the kids you baby sit for, your students, any children who have a big place in your heart!

* Marry on your parents or grandparents anniversary, and it’s an honor to their partnerships as well as perhaps a good luck charm.
